Happy Birthday, Carly!!

Yesterday I had a blast shooting Carly's 2 Year session! I chased her during most of our session, but that's how I like it!  I really enjoy capturing kids in their natural state, which typically involves NOT standing still:)  Here are a few of my favorite images from our session!

So Many Things...........

Good Thursday morning!!  What a gorgeous day!  The temperature is starting to fall below 'Freakin' Hot' and it looks like a cool down is on it's way!  Just in time for my busy season!!  Hooray!!
For those of you who know me, you know that I am antsy if I sit still for too long.  Well, it's been toooo long since I've gotten behind the camera! I've got a shoot on Saturday, but after that I'm not booked until Oct..
Unacceptable! LOL
So, I'm posting everything that's going on right now......and there's LOTS!  I'm offering so much to my customers right now, it would be silly not to take advantage!  So, let's get started!!

~I'm still pre-booking Fall Family & Halloween sessions for the months of Sept. and Oct..  There are MANY available openings!!  AND the next 6 people to call and schedule their session will receive it at half price!  That's $75 for families and$12.50 for Halloween!  (This does not count for CAT employees who are currently getting the half off deal.)  (501)303-7383

~Grandparent's Day is fast approaching!  I'll be shooting Grandparent's Day sessions from now until Sept. 4th.  These sessions are $50 off my regular session price.  (Reg. price:  $150).  (501)303-7383

~ Gift Certificates are available!!  And the cost is half the face value of the certificate.  So, if you purchase a $100 gift card for a special person, the cost to you is only $50.  GREAT DEAL!  Perfect for the Holidays!!  (501)303-7383

~Earn FREE sessions!!  There are soooo many ways to do so!  1.) Send 5 families/kids my way.  If they book and keep their appt., you earn a FREE session!  2.) Send 2 Seniors my way.  If they book and keep their appt., you earn a FREE session!  3.) Send me a wedding!  If that couple books and keeps their wedding day, you earn 2 FREE sessions!!  4.) Host a Portrait Party.  Call me for details:)  (501)303-7383

~For the month of September I'll be hosting a Kids Casting Call & Photo Contest.  Basically, this is a chance for you to get a FREE SESSION for your child!  Casting Calls are used by most photographers to build their portfolio.  You receive a free session and I receive time behind the camera.  Simple as that.  No strings attached!  I'm only taking 7 appointments for the casting call.  In Oct. I'll be posting all the kids in an album on my Facebook fan site and hosting a contest.  The winner will receive a free session to be used by your family:)  (501)303-7383

Like I said......there's LOTS going on:)  I'm so excited, (and a little anxious), to get behind the camera!  Rebuilding a business from the ground up is harder than I thought it would be!  With a break in the temperature and fall on the way, (have you noticed the trees are starting to turn?!), I'm anticipating wonderful things!!!  Don't wait until the last minute to book.  If history repeats itself, (and I'm pretty sure it will), my schedule will book fast and furious.  I'm available 7 days a week to accomodate your busy life!!  So, please don't hesitate to call!

Fall Families

I absolutely LOVE the fall!  I can't say it's my favorite time to take pictures, because I love taking pictures ALL THE TIME:)  But, it is one of my busiest and most fun times of the year!  Here are a few images from last year.  I can't wait to add new faces this year!!!

How it Works.

Oh, how I'm anticipating getting my website up and running!  Then the details will be clear and I'll have a spot for everything!  Facebook and the blog are great, but the details seem to get lost.  Anyhoo, I thought I would sit down really quick and post a 'How it Works' blog.

As a photographer, I want you to get the most for your money........bang for your buck!  Especially in THIS economy!  When you book an appointment with me you will receive a disc with ALL the edited images from your photo session.  I don't do any print orders.  It sounds like a bummer, but it saves you BIG TIME!  Print orders are how most photographers make their money.
Not me.  I charge a set fee for your sitting, my time, the disc and the rights to each image on the disc.  Plain and simple.  You can take your disc to any photo retailer or go online to Shutterfly or any other printer and get your prints for WAY LESS than you would at any professional photography studio:)

That's how it works.  It's quick, easy and fairly painless! :)  AND you save hundreds!!  If you have any questions or if you're interested in booking, just call me at 501-303-7383.  (Central Arkansas Photographer)

Project 365

On my facebook page I've been doing the Project 365 that a lot of photographers have been involved with.  It's so much fun!  It's a project that forces me to get behind the camera and keep up on daily postings.  I've slipped up a couple times, but I'm keeping up for the most part:)
Today is day 45.  I thought since not everyone has facebook and my website isn't up yet, (but it's in the works.........SO EXCITED), I would start posting on here as well:)
So, here's Day 45/Project 365:  This is one of my very favorite images from last fall!  And I'm super excited to fill my schedule with Fall Family sessions here in Arkansas!  This year is our first autumn in the south and I can't wait to get even more busy than I've been!  This summer has been so hot........too hot to shoot during most hours of the day.  But as it gets cooler, my calender will get fuller:)

Sam and Alex's 4th Grade School Pictures:)

Shooting the boys was a lot more difficult that shooting Bailey!  Let's see, they had to take a break from the Wii, they 'needed' a snack, they had to go to the bathroom, they didn't like the clothes I picked out........need I go on?  Boys, boys, boys!!  I love them, but I wish they liked the camera as much as my daughter;)  Not likely to ever happen.........I know:)  But I got them to smile...kind of.  So, without further 'ado'  and complaining on my part, here's a few images from their 4th grade shoot.

Bailey's 7th Grade Images

I don't know about you, but I don't like school picture day.  It's expensive.  It's posed.  It's not my 'thing'.  So, every year I've started doing a photoshoot with my kids right before school starts.  Yesterday we had fun shooting Bailey's 7th grade images:)  I can't believe how much she's grown up since last year!  Here are a couple images from her shoot:)

It's Been Awhile.......

It's been quite a while since I've just sat down to write. Life has been so busy! Our move to Arkansas has been a smooth transition! The kids haven't missed a beat and Jon slid right into his new job transfer at CAT. We've been busy making our house a home, making new friends and exploring the area:) What a joy!!

Soon and very soon things will be changing. The kids will start school in just a week and a half! They are so excited to make new friends, but nervous at the prospect of something new and different. I'm sure there will be a time of adjustment, but they are social kids, so I don't think there will be any difficulties:)

As for me, I'll be throwing myself into my work:) The prospects are out there........the possibilities are endless and the potential is amazing. It's just a matter of time. I'm so excited to keep moving forward. I've had a few sessions since we've been here and I know that when autumn arrives my schedule will be packed. In the mean time, I'm learning a lot about myself, both as a person and as a photographer.
It's a very humbling experience:)

So while I wait for my phone to ring more frequently, I'll be patient. I'll research, study and learn as much as I can. My mailbox will be bringing me some new learning tools soon! (Thank you, Bobbi Wiseman!!) And I'll keep torturing my kids with photoshoots, (I think they secretly love it).

So, have a happy Monday!! And follow your dreams! Turn your passion into your 'job' and enjoy the journey!!!

Hello, Everyone!

I'm going through my schedule and since Fall Families and Halloween sessions fill up fast, I'd like to pre-book so it's not so crazy down the line.

The entire month of October is open for Fall Families. These are the family sessions that most people use for their annual Christmas cards or just their yearly photo. It's a super busy time of year for me! I'm looking forward to autumn here in the south! I'll be available 7 days a week, so let me know what day works best for you!

Halloween pictures are going to be so fun this year! I'll be shooting your little costumed creatures for 2 weekends in October: Oct. 23 &24 and Oct. 30 & 31. We'll be shooting on the Benton Courthouse lawn by the gazeebo. OR if you have a special destination you'd like for your child, you can book me for a different date and we'll meet up:) Halloween sessions are $25.

Talk to you soon!

Kids Casting Call and Photo Contest!!

What is a casting call??

1.) It's a chance for you to receive a free session and disc of images.
2.) It's something I should have done about a montha ago! LOL

For this casting call I'll be needing kids ages newborn thru 12 years old. I'll only be taking 7 sessions, so it's first come/first served!!

After the Casting Call, I'll post an image from each session and begin a contest. FB fans will vote by leaving a comment on their favorite image. The child with the most votes wins a FREE session! (This can be used by your family up to one year from the date of winning.)
