Spring Has Sprung!

I gotta say; There's nothing like spring in the south!  I have begun my busy season and couldn't be happier!  Back home in Illinois I had to wait until April or May before people really got serious about getting back outside for pictures.  Here in Arkansas I can pretty much shoot all year 'round, but February and March seem to really kick the winter dulldrums out the door and people are ready to get outdoors!  LOVE IT!

This past weekend I shot one of my Senior Ambassadors and had a ball!  I'd like to share some of her images and let you know that I'm still on the hunt for 5 more seniors to take part in my Ambassador program.  Call or email for details!  501-303-7383 or tia1973@tiawindphotography.com

The Pink Purse

It's amazing what you can do with $300 and a dream!  For Rachel Standridge and her family, it meant building a super fun, super colorful business called, The Pink Purse.  The Pink Purse was born a year ago tucked away in a small store here in Benton, Arkansas.  But, this week they moved to a higher profile location at 2013 Military Rd. with more square footage for their rainbow assortment of handbags, wallets, jewelry, shoes, t-shirts, jeans and SO MUCH MORE!!

Price points on items in the store are incredibly affordable and fit quite nicely into any budget.  Rachel keeps the store running like clockwork with the help of her husband, mother and just one other employee.

Store owner, Rachel Standridge
And the storefront?  It has a personality all it's own!  You can't miss this pink VW Bug that seems to come crashing through the front of the store!  Um, can you say, 'ADORABLE'??!!  It's hard to miss as you drive by, which makes it all the more appealing.  And really, it just makes you smile:)

On a personal note, I had a great time wandering through the store snapping pictures and shopping at the same time.  I walked out with a red clutch wallet encrusted with a blinged out fleur de lis! And I'll be headed back soon!  My daughter, Bailey, has made a list of very specific items from the store for her upcoming 13th birthday.

The Pink Purse is every girl's dream boutique!  Make this store a 'must shop'!  Whether you need a gift for a friend or just want a new handbag, The Pink Purse has exactly what you need!  So, head on in and tell Rachel I sent you!  She'll be glad you came.........and so will YOU!!!

ANOTHER New Adventure:)

The fun just keeps comin'! :)  I've been thinking for a few weeks that I need to do something for small local businesses that would be a win-win for everyone.  I wanted to stay behind the camera doing something new, yet give people with businesses of their own a venue to get more face time.
So, I decided to head out with my camera and profile these businesses on my blog:)  I didn't realize it was going to be so much fun!  Yesterday I headed to The Pink Purse.  It's a DARLING boutique here  in Benton where you can shop till you drop!  Stay tuned!!!!

Stork Pouch

Well, I gave myself the challenge of learning how to knit the Stork Pouch.  And I did it!  (I was shocked, too!).  Anyhoo, they are now available for purchase and come with a matching hat.  I was out looking at other Stork Pouches and they typically run between $50 and $85......YIKES.  So, I'm making mine available for $30 plus $3 shipping.
They are custom made, so if you're interested let me know what color(s) you'd like:)
Thanks a TON!!!

Newest Adventure:)

Last week I was online shopping for new props and found some really cute newborn cacoons.  My first thought: "I wish I knew how to knit so I could make this myself."  My second thought: "No way am I paying that much!"

So, I sulked for a little while and logged off.  About an hour later I sat back down to check my emails and headed over to facebook.  A friend of mine had invited me to her knitting circle for that coming Friday:)  She has a great 'charity' where she knits/donates hats to overseas missions, so we all gathered to learn how to knit the hats and donate our creations.

As I was knitting my hat, I realized that it wouldn't be too hard to create a cacoon like I had seen online.  So, I went home and started my experiment.  Within 2 hours I had my first cacoon! Yay!  I was so excited.  I knit a few more hats for my friends mission donation, then created a stash of cacoons for my prop collection.

I decided that since this was so easy, I could offer my photography friends the opportunity to purchase cacoons for their businesses as well, and there you have it:)  I am now making/selling newborn cacoons.  How much fun is that?!?
I'm also selling to those who want them for baby shower gifts, doll accessories or just because:)

The cost of a cacoon is $25 plus $3 for shipping.  Let me know if you'd like one!

Yowza!!

Holy Cow!!  It's been too long since I sat down to blog!  I must do better!!

So, how have you all been!?  I've been creating more marketing material for my seniors, mass mailings, spring sessions and more!  It's been fun!  I love being able to create my own flyers, business cards, etc!
January is my slow month, so I've had a lot of time to just relax!  It's been wonderful!  But now I'm ready to get back behind the camera!
I've booked a few session for the spring and highly anticipate that my schedule is going to EXPLODE!!  I'll be shooting spring sessions at Wye Mt.'s Daffodil Festival this year and CAN'T WAIT!  It's our first spring here in Arkansas and I've been told it's GORGEOUS!

I can't wait to see what this new year brings!  I am anticipating great things!  New customers, new ideas, new locations and lots of new friends!!
Please call or email to book your spring and summer sessions right now!  From my experience, I can tell you that there will be a mad rush in March and April to get spring/summer and senior sessions booked.  Don't miss out by procrastinating!!  We can always reschedule, but you don't want to miss out completely!!
Have a wonderful day!!!
